SHIRE Grants - Background Information
The SHIRE Community Grant programme enables VCSE (Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise) sector organisations to deliver community-based projects, services and activities which help to improve the lives of vulnerable people in Leicestershire.
Eligible organisations are able to apply for grants for community based projects and activities that are specifically focused on supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people and communities.
We are particularly interested in funding services, projects and activities that will:
- improve the lives, health and wellbeing of vulnerable or disadvantaged people and communities in Leicestershire
- provide community-based early intervention and prevention solutions which help to reduce demand on Council and other public services
- complement existing services already being delivered
More information about how to apply for a SHIRE Grant can be seen below.
Application Process and Guidance Notes
Your organisation can only apply for either a Small Grant (max £3,000) or a Large Grant (max £10,000) in 2022-23.
If you think your organisation may be eligible for funding, please contact the Grant Officers to discuss your application for funding in more detail. The Grant Officers will provide further advice, before asking you to complete an online application form. We would also recommend that you read the SHIRE Community Grant 2022-23 Guidance Notes, which are available to download below.
Before submitting your application, we recommend that you draft your application, using the separate Word template, which is available on the application page below.
Please note, if your organisation has been awarded a SHIRE Grant (or a grant from the Leicestershire Communities Fund 2020-21) for core organisational running costs in the previous two years (2020-21 and 2021-22), we would request that you contact the Grants Officers prior to applying.
If you have any queries about the grant fund criteria or process, or if you would like to request any of the documentation in other formats (e.g. paper copies, large print), please call the Grants Officers on (0116) 305 7269 / 305 7020, or email: email@example.com.
