The SHIRE Community Grant programme has re-opened for a final round of applications in 2017-18.
Please note, for this additional final grant round for 2017-18, applications for funding will only be accepted for CAPITAL projects which closely align to the existing grant criteria.
Capital projects could include; the purchase of equipment, tools, machinery, vehicles or improvements to a building, which will enable you to achieve positive impacts, outcomes and benefits for vulnerable/disadvantaged people.
The closing date for this latest round will be Monday 26th February 2018 with decisions being made in March 2018.
If you have a project idea you think may be eligible for capital funding, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org, before completing an online application form.
To help deliver the priorities of Leicestershire County Council's Communities Strategy, the SHIRE Community Grant programme will enable voluntary and community sector organisations (including social enterprises and Town/Parish Councils) to deliver community-based projects, services and activities which directly benefit the most vulnerable people in Leicestershire.
Eligible organisations will be able to access grants of up to £10,000 and/or smaller grants of up to £3,000 for community based projects and activities that are focused on supporting vulnerable/disadvantaged people and communities.
We are particularly interested in funding new and innovative projects that will:
- support the most vulnerable individuals and communities in Leicestershire
- provide early intervention and prevention based solutions
- complement existing services already being delivered
To help you to ensure your project is likely to be eligible for funding, please have a read through the Proposal Form, particularly focussing on the 8 questions at the bottom of Page 1 of the document.
Once you have read through this document, and you think your project will be eligible for funding, please contact the Grant Officers to discuss your project proposal in more detail. The Grant Officers will provide further advice, before asking you to complete an online application form.
The application form for the SHIRE Community Grant needs to be completed using the online Application Form.
