Poppy Lamp Post Scheme 2018.
This is an opportunity for the residents of North West Leicestershire to honour all those who fell in the First World War. This year marks the 100year anniversary, remembering the bravery of those who fought, lived and died in the Great War.
The Council would like to see the lamp posts in communities dressed with red remembrance poppies.

Congratulations to Barrow Upon Soar Neighbourhood Plan on their successful referendum. The referendum, which took place on Thursday 8th February 2018, saw a turnout of 21.7% with the following results:-
999 - YES VOTES
56 - NO VOTES

The British Red Cross is working with community partners to provide free First Aid sessions to the following community groups:
• Adults over 65 at risk of slips, trips and falls.
• People living with issues around drug and alcohol usage.
• People who are homeless or rough sleepers and at risk of injury or sudden illness.s
These are informal sessions and can be arranged at a user's venue.
Currently they are delivering in the Leicestershire area.

If you have dementia or are caring for someone with dementia, come along to a local Support Group. Meet with other carers, have a cuppa, receive information, support and guidance. Activity sessions for people living with dementia are held separately. See attached poster for a list of City and County locations for Support Group meetings.
