Congratulations Asfordby

Posted: Mon, 02 Oct 2017 08:44

Congratulations to Asfordby Neighbourhood Plan on their successful referendum. The referendum, which took place on Thursday 28th September 2017, saw a turnout of 15.36% with the following results:-

The Asfordby Parish Neighbourhood Plan has allowed people, who live, work and have a business in the parish, to have a say on where they think new houses, businesses and shops should go and what they should look like. The plan provides for around 150 new homes to be built and business development at the former Asfordby Mine and Holwell Works. Important open spaces are to be protected, including the countryside separating the settlements of Asfordby, Asfordby Valley and Asfordby Hill.

Ronnie DeBurle, Asfordby Parish Council Chairman and Borough Councillor said:
'A lot of time and effort has gone into preparing the Plan, but by working together we can now ensure the parish develops in a way that meets the needs of everyone.'

Have Your Say on the Draft Leicestershire Communities Strategy

Posted: Tue, 11 Jul 2017 10:30

We are keen to hear your views on the Strategy, our priorities, and our overarching vision for Leicestershire. Between June and September 2017, a series of conversations and engagement events are planned with a range of stakeholders and communities. The aim of this engagement process is to explore opportunities for greater participation and involvement in the delivery of the Strategy.

There are a number of questions that we would like you to consider; perhaps thinking about how you could help provide solutions or things we need to consider if we are to achieve our vision together, including what actions need to take place.
