SHIRE Community Grants
The SHIRE Community Grant programme is now CLOSED for applications, as the deadlines for all four rounds of funding for 2018-19 have now passed.
Please keep returning to this page to hear details about the Grant Programme for 2019-20.
To help deliver the priorities of Leicestershire County Council's Communities Strategy, the SHIRE Community Grant programme will enable voluntary and community sector organisations (including social enterprises and Town/Parish Councils) to deliver community-based projects, services and activities which help to improve the lives of vulnerable people in Leicestershire.
Eligible organisations will be able to access grants of up to £10,000 and/or smaller grants of up to £3,000 for community based projects and activities that are specifically focused on supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people and communities.
We are particularly interested in funding new and innovative projects that will:
- improve the lives, health and wellbeing of vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals and communities in Leicestershire
- provide early intervention and prevention based solutions which help to reduce demand on Council and other public services
- complement existing services already being delivered
To help you to ensure your project is likely to be eligible for funding, please have a read through the Proposal Form, particularly focussing on the 8 questions at the bottom of Page 1 of the document.
Once you have read through this document, and you think your project will be eligible for funding, please contact the Grant Officers to discuss your project proposal in more detail. The Grant Officers will provide further advice, before asking you to complete an online application form.
