Poppy Lamp Post Scheme 2018.

This is an opportunity for the residents of North West Leicestershire to honour all those who fell in the First World War. This year marks the 100year anniversary, remembering the bravery of those who fought, lived and died in the Great War.

The Council would like to see the lamp posts in communities dressed with red remembrance poppies.

Free First Aid Training by British Red Cross

The British Red Cross is working with community partners to provide free First Aid sessions to the following community groups:

• Adults over 65 at risk of slips, trips and falls.

• People living with issues around drug and alcohol usage.

• People who are homeless or rough sleepers and at risk of injury or sudden illness.s

These are informal sessions and can be arranged at a user's venue.

Currently they are delivering in the Leicestershire area.

Dementia Support Group Meetings Across Leicestershire

Joining Forces Project

Joining Forces is an Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland Project in partnership with SSAFA supporting veterans born before 1950, their widows/widowers, families or people who care for veterans.

The service covers Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Support includes: information & advice,, form filling, meeting other veterans, befriending, accessing services, connecting with other communities and carer support. Read More »

LASS Wellbeing Days Launching on 15th December 2017
