Youth Social Action Fund Opens

Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation has announced the launch of the Youth Social Action Fund

Its about enabling and supporting Young people taking practical action in the service of others in order to create positive social change that is of benefit to the wider community as well as to the young person themselves.

Youth social action has huge potential to create enjoyable opportunities and skills development for young people, benefitting local people and places.

The Youth Social Action will provide funding of between £1,000 and £5,000 for each project.

The first deadline for applications is Tuesday 28 February 2017. Read More »

Building a Stronger Britain

The second round of 'Building a Stronger Britain' has been launched with UKCF, the Home Office and M&C Saatchi. Decisions for the first round were made in December a total of £1.3 million will be awarded.

Home Office have set aside £2 million for Round 2, the programme launched yesterday. The grant funding available will provide groups with the opportunity to apply for projects that meet one or more of the BSBT objectives:

• Fewer people holding attitudes, beliefs and feelings that oppose shared values

• An increased sense of belonging and civic participation at the local level

New Active Communities Grants programme

Voluntary Action LeicesterShire (VAL) is pleased to announce the launch of the Active Communities Grant, an exciting new grants programme set up to support groups in delivering activity in their community.

Funded projects will be designed and delivered by non-profit groups who don't typically provide opportunities like this, and target groups of people who take part in limited, or no, sport or physical activity.

This Active Communities Grant programme has been set up in partnership with Sport England and will run for 1 year. Read More »
