Further Support for Community Organisations

A range of support for voluntary and community sector groups is available from Voluntary Action LeicesterShire. This includes information, advice and training around setting up a community group/organisation; fundraising and income generation; assistance with reviewing grant applications; recruiting and managing volunteers; and business and sustainability planning for your organisation.

If you are a social enterprise, co-operative or Community Interest Company (CIC) in Leicestershire, you can access support from CASE.

A comprehensive range of information is also available via the Knowhownonprofit.org website.

Another great source of useful information, advice and guidance for small charities (with income of less than £1 million) can be found on the Small Charities Coalitiion website.

If you are a trustee/committee member of a charity or community group, there is lots of useful information on the gov.uk website.

LCC Monthly Funding Information Bulletins

Monthly Funding & Grants Information bulletins are now being compiled by Leicestershire County Council, using information from a range of sources.

Bulletins will be produced each month, and the funding opportunities will generally be for community groups, organisations and charities. However, some of the information will also be relevant for local authorities.

The Funding Toolkit is a free searchable database of funding opportunities, hosted on Voluntary Action Leicestershire's website

Funding Central is another national grants and funding website.

The Directory of Social Change manage the Funds Online website (subscription required).

Melton Borough Council has compiled a very useful source of funding organisations

Leicestershire & Rutland Sport can provide advice and support for sports clubs and groups to help identify appropriate sources of funding and additional support.

Further useful grants and funding information is included in the Additional Sources of Funding document, which is updated by Leicestershire County Council on a regular basis

The East Midlands Funding Forum (EMFF) provides a monthly e-bulletin on sources of funding and other useful information for the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VCSE).

The Rural Services Network provides a monthly Rural Opportunities Digest February 2019 which has information on funding and other issues relevant to rural communities in the county.
