Enabling Social Action Programme: Regional Champion Network for the East
Date: Wed, 11 Mar 2020, 10:00 - 15:30
Venue: Voluntary Action Leicestershire, 9 Newarke Street, Leicester, LE1 5SN
The Enabling Social Action (ESA) programme is a partnership between the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and the Universities of Sheffield and Hull. The programme involves collaborating with local authorities to support them to design and deliver services with local people, service users, and civil society organisations.
As part of the ESA programme, a Regional Champion Network has been established with champions from local authorities in the North, East, South and West. This will be the second regional event for the East region and will be led by the ESA Champion for the East, Kristy Ball (Leicestershire County Council), and co-hosted by Voluntary Action Leicestershire.
The event will include opportunities to:
- hear from inspiring Leicestershire based examples of social action, which are making a positive difference in local communities
- explore the challenges and opportunities of social action
- enable stakeholders from different perspectives to come together and share their learning with others
- share ideas for improving collaboration and consider how we can collectively shape and build the social action network in future
