Together at Christmas - Local Champion Rewarded

We were delighted to hear that two of our Community Champions nominees were invited to attend a 'Together at Christmas' concert at Westminster Abbey, hosted by HRH the Duchess of Cambridge.

Sarah Fegredo and Alan Ayris were both nominated for their continued support to people suffering with poor Mental Health. You will recognise Sarah from our last board meeting. Sarah set up Renew 67 in Hugglescote where she met Alan.

Alan continues his own mental health recovery by distributing 'lucky pegs' around his local area for others to find. He writes positive messages on his pegs to give support and encouragement to people. Alans' efforts throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic have helped countless people locally, through what has been a very lonely and challenging time for many.

Armed with his pegs, Alan and Sarah enjoyed a very special trip to London where he was able to share his story and continue to distribute his pegs of support.
Alan is a true ambassador for Mental Health wellbeing. He has since been interviewed on BBC Radio Leicester about his story, and features in the Coalville Times (17.12.2021). The Carol Service will be televised by ITV on Christmas Eve at 7.30pm.
