In 2026, Leicestershire County Council will be delivering a £50,000 armed forces grant project, in association with partners, following a successful Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust award.
The project, entitled 'Mission ready: relocation made simple', aims to bring together different streams of information available online to create a single, coherent offer to service personnel and their families locally. The council is the first ever local authority to receive a grant from the trust for this project.
The project is a part of the Trust's 'Serving families on the move' programme, which aims to support service members and their families who relocate as part of their duties.
The County Council will be delivering this project in collaboration with borough and district colleagues, VCSE partners, local barracks and officers and military partners. The project will launch in January and more information will be available then.
