Celebrating Great Communities Event - Thursday 5th December 2019

Leicestershire County Council is hosting a 'Celebrating Great Communities' showcase event on the evening of Thursday 5th December, at County Hall, from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.

Registration for this event has now closed.

Delegates will be able to attend two different workshops to attend during the evening.

The workshops are as follows:

From The Ground Up - Developing a Community Building - Paul Gadd from the Arc Community Hub in Shelthorpe will be sharing his inspiring story about how a local community came together to construct a new community centre in Loughborough.

Social Prescribing in Leicestershire – Supporting people to lead fulfilling lives - Anna Christie and Debbie Preston from Leicestershire County Council's Public Health Department will be telling delegates about different social prescribing projects and activities which are currently operating in Leicestershire.

How to be a Resilient Community - Andrew Murr, Helen Hardy and Heleena Chauhan from the LLR Resilience Partnership will be giving examples of how people in local communities can be prepared and responsive to local situations, including emergencies.

Applying for Lottery funding - Oliver Savage from the National Lottery Community Fund will be providing details about the Lottery's funding programmes, eligibility criteria and how to apply for grants.
