Conversations about Covid

The last year has been a time of great difficulty and great discovery as we have all had to find new ways of keeping happy, new ways of staying in touch with friends and family, and had time to try something different. The Council has just started a project – Conversations About Covid – that aims to capture and understand this wide range of experience through gathering the stories of local residents and businesses.

There are two ways that you can get involved:

  • Tell us your personal story of the last 12 months in a way that suits you
  • Suggest community groups that might be interested in having a discussion with us about the last year

You, or groups that you know, might want to tell us about what has changed the most - for the better or for the worse, what you have discovered about yourself and your community over the last year, or what you are looking forward to most about life after the pandemic.

You can share your story and get in contact via www.leicestershire.gov.uk/covidconversations or by emailing conversations@leics.gov.uk

We hope to keep collecting stories and talking to people about their experiences throughout 2021 so that we can really understand how the pandemic has affected staff, Leicestershire residents and businesses. We are planning to store the stories collected at the Record Office for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland as a permanent archive of this unique and difficult period for future generations. We would also like to share some of the stories through our website.

Please visit our webpage or email us if you would like to be involved.
