Libraries Live at Newbold Verdon Library

Libraries Live is an exciting collaboration between artists and newly community managed libraries across 3 counties; Warwickshire, Leicestershire & Staffordshire.Launc hing in September, Libraries Live will take place in Glascote Library in Tamworth, Water Orton Library, Warwickshire and Newbold Verdon Library in Leicestershire. Each library will have an artist in residence who will work closely with the community managed libraries and their volunteers as well as the wider community to explore the theme of 'change' in libraries and the ethos behind communities working together.
Participants will be encouraged to share stories about volunteering and what libraries mean to them, what their aspirations are for the future and how libraries and communities can work together to achieve them.
At Newbold Verdon, Leicestershire based textile artist Ruth Singer will work with over 50s to explore their experiences of volunteering and the sense of community which working together brings. Through a range of creative activities, including; textiles, print, embroidery, bookbinding and collage, she will gather people's thoughts and experiences which will inform a new piece of work. Activities are free and will take place on:
Wednesdays between 2 & 6pm - 17th, 24th, 31st October and 7th November
Fridays between 2 & 5pm - 12th, 26th October and 2nd, 9th November
