NHS at 70: The Story Of Our Lives Project

Posted: Tue, 14 Jan 2020 11:45

The NHS are seeking stories that people in Leicestershire have of their time either working in the NHS, or being treated by the NHS as a patient.

NHS at 70 is a national programme of work, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to capture the history of the NHS over the last 70 years by recording interviews with a wide range of people from porters to politicians, and matrons to managers. Together the interviews will form the first Digital Archive of NHS history and will be preserved as a permanent public reference resource for use in exhibitions, research, publications, education, lectures, broadcasting and the internet. There are already a number of stories online on the website – nhs70.org.uk

If anyone is interested in having their story recorded, it will take an hour or so and a quiet room. They can remain completely anonymous if they prefer not to be identified and still want to tell their story.

See attached poster.

If anyone is interested, please email nhs70@manchester.ac.uk
