Posted: Thu, 01 Nov 2018 12:02

MacMillan Befrienders Service support people affected by cancer in their own homes, providing emotional support as well as practical tasks such as shopping for up to two hours each week over a twelve week period (maybe longer depending on circumstances).

They are looking for Lead Volunteers to help manage these groups as well volunteers to provide the support.

The Lead volunteer role allows individuals to use their leadership skills and we particularly welcome retired volunteers that are looking for a challenging & rewarding experience. Volunteers can expect an induction, ongoing training and support. Out of pocket expenses are reimbursed and volunteers are also provided with an emergency alarm for their own safety.

After 12 months service volunteers can apply to attend the annual Macmillan Volunteer Conference with accommodation & travel provided.

If you are interested in becoming a Lead Volunteer or would like to volunteer to provide support you can email the Direct Volunteer Services Administrator at smclean@macmillan.org.uk
